Tips in Creating and Promoting an Effective Flyer

One factor that affects the success and failure of a business is advertising. It entails the reaction of the people on product quality, compatibility of a product in a particular location, etc. Lots of businesses spend on advertising to make their products popular. In fact, many spend a lot of expenses on advertising alone.

However, you must also analyze the outcome of your advertising efforts. You might want to try economical and money-saving ideas while promoting your products and business.

One way to promote your business is with the use of flyers. The marketing ability of flyers might be suspicious at first, but the result is effective in many ways. The reason why it is effective is because it can be directly see and touch by potential customers which highlight important points you want to offer.

You can have these flyers be placed in bookstores, coffee shops, or in any place where your potential market might hang out. Check out some ideas below in creating noticeable flyers.

First, make sure that an eye-catching picture is included in the flyer. A picture brings more meaning than just a plain text. Just make sure that the image directly promotes your business with honestly. A false image will turn customers off. Experiment with colored designs for a more effective result. You can try black and white too. It depends on the nature of your business.

Second, always put an attention-grabbing headline. This is one critical part in creating a flyer because you only have few seconds to catch the attention of your potential buyers. You need to create a short, effective, and meaningful headline to attract customers to buy your product. Again, do an experiment to see what title will get the best result.

Third in the list is how customers can contact your business and products. Offer many options such as through fax, a website, telephone number, mobile number, and email. Show them exactly how and where they can reach you and purchase your product. Make sure that your product can be easily purchased, or else they will try other goods from other suppliers.

The fourth one is the inclusion of testimonials for added credibility. People are skeptical on products that no one has ever tried before. Ask previous users on feedback about your products. If you are using a website, you might want to try a video testimonial for a more effective promotion. Include a line on the flyer directing readers to visit your website for this testimonial.

Fifth in the list will be a protection option for your flyers. In case you are carrying a flyer, have them be sealed in a plastic cover for protection against being wet and crumpled. This protection also makes your flyers always look like new.

Lastly, after all your flyers have been distributed, try to make some more. There are still a lot of buyers who might be interested in your products. Also, try to follow up some customers after several days. You might be surprised that a greater percentage of these consumers are fascinated in your offer.

Having a good and attractive flyer is always a good way to promote your business. Just remember that a flyer will be much more effective if it is backed-up by a product with good quality and reliability.

Finding Art On T Shirts And Skateboards

Finding Art On T Shirts And Skateboards

By: Don McCobb

This is not where you expect to find great graphic art. But it’s there!

And, I think that it’s about time the world discovered Philip McCobb’s fantastic graphic designs, illustrations and art. Even if you have to buy a T-shirt or skateboard to do it.

Philip was brought up around the world. He was born in El Salvador, spent his early years in Japan being indoctrinated into Japanese comic books and television characters, then to Italy for his teens immersed in the great classic artists. With that beginning it’s not surprising he developed an eclectic style expressed in vibrant colors put in bold broad strokes.

Then he was off to school where he attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where his graphic artistic skills were honed and brought to a new level.

Done with his formal education he jumped into the commercial world where his art met the real world, and those who saw it, loved it. Over time Philip took his art through many styles as he developed his ability to express his creative ideas. Along the way he picked up web design and handling online production for commercial printing projects. But while still pursuing and producing commercial art and illustrations for his clients, Philip is embarking on a new project to design and sell T-shirts and skateboard decks that reflect his love for bold and innovative design. You can only imagine T-shirts that have the name Southwestern Voodoo, Armadillo in the Sky, Blue Whale and Trick or Treat. His latest skate board deck named after the capitol of Texas, Austin, is a dynamic representation of that city and an excellent example of his current work.

So whether you are into T-shirts and skateboards or not, but you love and appreciate bold innovative art, pay a visit to Philip McCobb’s website and see what he and his graphic art is all about. You’ll love the trip.

Creating Posters That Communicates Your Message Well

Creating Posters That Communicates Your Message Well

By: Katie Marcus

Here are ways to create the right posters to advertise your business and market your products and/or services.

By putting these suggestions into action, you may very well have print posters that can communicate your message and generate leads for your business.

1- It should be readable.

Posters are effective if your target clients can understand what you are saying in your message. In addition, the only way they can is if your words are readable. This means then that your readers should be able to distinguish not only your text and letters, but they should also be able to know where your message starts and where it ends.

A message that is readable means your ideas and concepts flow smoothly – in an organized manner. It should not have grammatical errors, misspelled words, hard-to-distinguish sentences, as well as a font that you can barely make out the letter it represents.

2- It should be organized

Same as being readable, your advertising tool should also be organized so that your target clients do not need to get an interpreter just so they can get to your message. Putting too many elements in your poster printing can most often than not, distract and confuse your readers from your message. You do not need to add too much glamour and glitter if it will only make it harder for your target readers to get your point. A well-organized and simple ad is still the best tool to get your ideas on print and have it understood by your target clients.

3- It should be legible.

Not only should your text be readable, but your copy should also be legible. Again, do not make it harder for your target clients to understand your message. They have been reading a lot of sales literature the whole day so another one from you can only irritate them especially if it would give them a migraine to do so. Make it easy for them to distinguish your words even from 6 feet away. The easier you make it for them to read your message, the faster they can act on your offer.

4- Make it simple and concise.

You do not need to write a novel. It will only take 11 seconds anyway for your target readers to glance and take in your message. So make it simple and short. Go for the punch line. The shorter it is, the faster it will be for your target readers to absorb your point in that very short time.

It is definitely not easy to create a poster. However, when done right, you can generate the leads you need to eventually make that profit.

5 Easy And Scalable Marketing Tips For 2010

5 Easy And Scalable Marketing Tips For 2010

By: Michael Flint

This should be the big year where we all take a turn for the better. The ideas below are all scalable — each one could take as little as a day, or could be a long-term project. Take a moment to review your company's marketing strategy for 2010. With a little effort, you could make a big impact.

Re-assess Your Brand

Is your brand still on target? Does it resonate with prospects and your community like it did when you first created your logo, website, sales materials? Send an informal survey to colleagues, friends, family, customers, etc. Get feedback. User experience is key to good graphic design. PS. A recent analysis by Fred Reichheld, a Bain & Co. consultant and author of Loyalty Rules , found that even a 5% increase in customer retention rates results in a 25% to 95% increase in profits (depending on the business). It definitely pays off to keep customers happy enough to return.

SEO

You've heard it for years. Search Engine Optimization is the most tried and true way for constituents to find you online. It is well-known to some and downright mysterious to others. It starts with a keyword discovery process. You then apply those keywords to your website both in the copy and in code. Metropolis Creative has successfully improved our SEO over the past year. Keywords were optimized on website, images and blog. Targeted search phrases were used in our outbound messaging (blog, twitter, and facebook) to link back to our site. With the help of good graphic design of keyword search and discover programs like Wordstream and Google Analytics, Metropolis was found at the top of most searches for our target niche. PS Meta keywords, paid links and keyword stuffing are the practices that worked in 90's and early 2000's. Search engine algorithms are changing and if you stick to the outdated strategies, then one day your site may no longer rank in the previous postition and greatly decrease your rankings.

Landing Pages

Getting traffic to your site isn't very helpful unless you can convert those visitors into customers. Traffic is driven to your site via channels. It could be a google search term, or it could be an email that you send out. It could be a keyword linked from a blog post that was picked up by another website, or mentioned in a social media post. The point is, you control the link to your web site, so link them to a page that makes sense. Minimize distractions here. Make a simple and obvious point, and give them the tool to contact you or make that purchase. The simpler, the better. A testimonial doesn't hurt. And BTW — plug some keywords on this page too (for Google).

Test, Test, Test!

There's no excuse not to use different versions of landing pages, email campaigns, and banner ads (among other things.) Its as easy as trying two or more versions and looking at the results. Learn from your successes and start over — every time. You don't have to create two entirely different pieces, just tweak the headlines, reverse the order of the content, change the subject line. You have a golden opportunity to learn what works best every time to send a message out. Use it.

Get Social

Generation Y and Z consider e-mail passé…In 2009 Boston College stopped distributing e-mail addresses to incoming freshmen. What are you using for social media? Use it for communicating, relationship building, reach, and even SEO. Build relationships with people who share interests with you. Then those people will tell others. It's relatively easy to maintain existing relationships with occasional messages, useful resource links, and reciprocal comments. The culture of social media fosters information sharing. If you post something useful or interesting, it will be shared and re-shared. If you include keywords in your post that link back to your website, it will help your SEO standings. Somethings don't change — they just get better. With a little work, you can take a huge step forward in improving your brand, visibility, and conversions. Post a comment or question and I'd be happy to help you get started.
